The Faith Of A Child

“Let the little children come to me,
and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive
the kingdom of God like a little child
will never enter it.”
Mark 10:14-15

Have you ever listened to a little child talk
about their faith in God?
The simplicity of their trust?
Knowing that God loves them and
wants the best for them?

One night recently, as I put my grand-daughter to bed, I asked her what she wanted to pray for.
She listed off a couple things and then said,
“God can do that you know, Grammie.”

Such simple trust in Him!

Jesus words in the Gospel of Mark tell us that we must receive the kingdom of God like a little child
or we won’t enter in.

What does that mean?
It means that we don’t have to have all the answers.
We don’t have to understand all the mysteries.

It should be enough to know that God loves us,
forgives us, equips us; that He can be trusted;
that His Word is the Truth!

Reflect for a moment –
Children exhibit such trusting, sincere, eagerness –
as well as dependence on their parents.
Should that not be how we are with God –
Our Heavenly Parent?
I don’t think for one moment this means we should be immature or childish –
He wants us to grow up in our faith!

It just means that we should trust God
with a child’s simplicity!

Paul wrote these words:
Ephesians 3:20 –
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly
above all that we ask or think...

Do you believe this? Do you accept that He is able?

I pray right now that your faith has the
simplicity of a child –
that you KNOW that He is able -
Able to do more than you could ever ask or imagine!
May this be your God!

Praise His Holy Name!

Blessings to you today!

Resting in HIM,
Ruthie
