His Holy Name!

Does this not excite you?
To think that His NAME is Holy?
That HE is holy?
It does me!

His holiness is one of His attributes... of which there are so many more!
And we – as His followers – are called to be holy – just as He is holy –
1 Peter 1:15-16

Let’s look at Colossians 3:1-17...
In one NIV Bible I have this portion of Scripture is entitled “Rules for Holy Living”.

In my Nelson Study Bible (NKJV) this section is broken into 2 groupings:
a) Verses 1-11: Not Carnality but Christ
b) Verses 12-17: Character of the New Man

Regardless of how the version identifies theses verses they are about how we,
as children of the King, should conduct ourselves as we reflect Him living in us!
Verse 17 is one of my favorite verses and has been a “mantra” for me off and on over the years –
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of
the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Whatever you do...

Whether in word or deed...
(this is pretty self-explanatory)

Do it all...
This means ALL!
Did I say that loud enough?
ALL!

In the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him...
Because of His presence in your life you are able to DO - to BE -
whatever ...
Know that He has you in this place, this time, this season –
for a reason ...
to reflect HIM to this world we live in!

Develop a thankful heart!
Acknowledge HIM in your life!
Pour out your praise and thanks to HIM 24/7!
Love Him for taking you out of the pit and placing you on the Rock!

Dear ones –
This writing today took on a life of its own!
(This happens sometimes!)
My plan was to focus on the rules...
But God had another plan!

I pray that these words have spoken to you today!
That you will see your life as a reflection of all He is to you;
all He has done for you, and in you;
and may you live that out to the fullest!

Blessings on you today!
Ruthie
